Hypothetical: Speed Kills

Here's an easy one, although it depends more on your personal athletic ability than the others. Picture yourself on one end of a 25 yard by 10 yard plot of land (half an endzone). Now picture Lito Sheppard on the other end with a football under his arm. If you had 10 minutes and neither of you could leave the area, could you tackle him? Could you get the ball loose? For the sake of argument we'll use the 2004 Lito, before he became the second coming of Al Harris and then broke his ankle.

I'm 95% certain that I'd have no chance at all, but I can think of a few people who might have a shot. How about you?

You are only going to catch him if he gets totally bored. He's going ot have the advantage from the begining and, considering his conditioning is vastly better than any of ours, he'll still have it at the end. If we could make a rule that you cant cross over any ground that you have already walked on, (like remember that old snake computer game where your tail kept getting longer and if you touched it you would die and you had to corral the other snake)maybe then he is outsmartable. If he doesnt get bored I dont think he is outcatchable. I wouldnt rule out the getting bored factor though, it definitely happened in the Cowboys monday night game which was arguably more important and exciting than tackle tag with some bloggers. In the end, I think after about three minutes he lets you tackle him so he can go home and watch 2004 game tapes.

Even if you catch him, no way you bring him down

we're talking about Lito Sheppard here, not Michael Vick. I agree that he's elusive, but he's not that strong. Over 10 minutes in a generally small area, you could definitely take him down. I'd prefer a Roy Williams horsecollar to do the job right.

Listen, I don't care if this is Darren Sproles http://www.faqfarm.com/Q/Who_is_the_smallest_player_in_the_NFL , it's still a professional athelete in something resembling peak condition. And you're talking about HIS sport.

I consider myself reasonably good at knocking people down, and over the course of 10 minutes I give myself less of a chance than the last shot of whiskey in my dad's liquor cabinet after he tries to balance the checkbook. God, the first twelve times he stiffarms me would probably all come as surprises.

I bet I could get the ball (wink)

im totally confident i bring down lito, its all about who wants it more, and he doesnt care if i tackle him, but it would be the highlight of my athletic career better than my little base hits and dropping 6 in a intramural bball game
